Cardi B could be in some hot water after throwing her mic at a concertgoer.
Days after a video went viral that shows the ‘WAP’ rapper throwing her microphone at a fan in response to getting splashed by an unknown liquid, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that a show attendee has come forward to “report a battery.”
“According to the victim, she was attending an event on July 29, 2023, at a property located in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard,” the Las Vegas police said in a statement to The Los Angeles Times. “During a concert, she was struck by an item that was thrown from the stage.”
According to TMZ, the woman who reported the incident to cops was standing next to the drink thrower — but she claims the mic hit her too.
A couple different videos of the incident are circulating online all showing someone in the audience at Drai’s Beachclub flinging the contents of their drink cup directly at Cardi while she is performing on stage. Immediately Cardi flinches upon getting splashed and then chucks her mic at the concertgoer. Cardi B can also be seen shouting from the stage at the person who targeted her as security guards close in on them.
According to chatter online, Cardi and her DJ had implored the crowd to splash water on her to cool her off in the triple-digit weather. There’s also video of her asking to be splashed but people in the comments say that was after the mic throwing incident.
